WINGSTREET – SPICY BBQ

20 Aug

Wing Street Hot BBQ

So I find myself back at WingStreet and this time I am going with the SPICY BBQ.

As I have said before, I like the size and taste of the chicken chunks (bone-out) that they serve at WingStreet but I have yet to find a sauce I am really crazy about.  I figure if they were to overhaul their sauce selection they could really be a top contender in the wing game.

This SPICY BBQ is probably the best sauce I have had so far.  It’s a rich and thick sauce that is just slightly sweet with some heat on the back-end.   It wasn’t until the last bite that I noticed that heat had snuck up on me.   Overall a good taste and lots of flavor but still not quite the ‘WOw” factor I am looking for.  Again I say, the best I have had yet.

BUT now that I found this sauce I at least have a fallback sauce while I continue searching for their best.

WINGSTREET – Garlic Parmesan

13 Jul

UntitledPizza Hut was so smart for starting up WingStreet all those years ago.   They saw a trend coming and they rode the wave all the way to shore.  Bone-in / Bone-out / you name it and they will give it to ya.

In the past I have tried their wings and sauces and never found one that I truly fell in love with.

Today was no exception.   Garlic Parmesan is a favorite flavor at many wing joints so I figured it was a solid choice.    What I got was some pretty decent bone-out pieces of chicken…with some parm cheese shook on them….followed by a heavy dousing in what seemed to be some sort of salad dressing or something.    It’s a light and creamy type sauce that just weighed down and made the crispy crusts on the chicken pieces turn soggy.  Real quick.  I managed to separate the pieces into the other side of the container and salvage half the order.   Again, like the chicken, haven’t found a sauce yet.   The search continues.

WINGSTREET Lemon Pepper

6 May

These are some good lookin’ boneless wings from WINGSTREET.

Picture-perfect-profile aside – They weren’t awesome but they weren’t horrible either.

Tender chunks of chicken a bath of lemon pepper sauce.   Got these to go with my pizza order and I am asking myself ….when exactly did someone decide chicken and pizza were two-great-tastes-that-taste-great-together?

I mean they are both awesome by themselves.

ok…anyway these were good…and the lemon pepper had some nice flavor but the sauce is a bit thick.   It’s almost like they are using a marinade instead of a sauce.

In the end, I was left thinking I could make these pretty easily at home.  Much cheaper too.
