ZuRoma Bar and Grill

5 Apr

This place is KILLER!   I love Hockey.  I also love Pizza.   Like, seriously GOOD PIZZA that is.

In North Richland Hills  there is this kick-ass indoor soccer/hockey facility called the NYTEX sports center.    It is the home of the CHL Fort Worth Brahmas team.   The facility itself isn’t quite as posh as the one for the Allen Americans, but I have never been around a more rowdy bunch of fun-loving-hockey-fans as I have been at the NYTEX.   Brahama games are crazy-fun!

In addition to the CHL rink, they also have indoor soccer fields and a fantastic bar/italian joint called ZuRoma Bar and Grill.

The pizzas there are fantastic.   Think “Campisi’s/iFratelli” style, so if you like that type (which I adore!) you will absolutely go nuts for this place.    What is also cool is that the one side of the bar shares a window with one of the soccer fields so you can watch the games live from inside the bar.   Very cool.   I only wish it was connected to the hockey rink instead of the soccer field…but oh well.

Another treat is that after the games, the players usually shower pop over to the bar, where they do the meet-n-greet thing with fans and usually have an impromptu auction of sticks, jerseys, pucks, etc…all for charity.

Even if this place wasn’t attached to a local sports groups, it would be a great place to hang.  They have TVs, some arcade games and lots of room.

During hockey games, you can even run down to the bar during intermission and order a pizza and you can walk it back over to the hockey side of the house to enjoy the game with a fresh and hot pie.  How cool is that?

If you haven’t been to a CHL hockey game before, see what you are missing.   For certain visit the NYTEX facility where you can see some great hockey and eat some great food!
