FITZ’s GINGER ALE

11 Jan

I think my taste buds are going wacky.  I love ginger ale and have never tried Fitz’s before.   It tasted great but it also didn’t taste like any other ginger ale I have ever had before.

I swear when I taste this, I taste not only ginger ale, but also hints of root beer and cream soda.  It’s like a ginger ale with a splash of those added.   Am I crazy?  Anyone else notice this?

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the taste of it and will be looking to buy it again soon but I can’t place why the taste is so different.

The first big mystery of 2013 is here.

I’m a Ginger Ale fanatic, and with St. Louis being my adopted hometown city (I’m about an hour east) I’m also a huge Fitz’s fan. Their Ginger Ale, in my opinion, is the absolute best on the market,

Sadly, my fellow junk food friend, they seem to have stopped carrying the traditional Ginger Ale for a stronger Ginger Beer (in collaboration with local pizzeria Pi). It’s still pretty good, but I’m an ale man. With the absence of the original flavor on the market, Fitz’s drops down a peg or 20 in my book. A sad day for Ginger Ale.

And yes, theirs does have a really unique taste. It has a bit, but not too spicy. It’s sweet, but not too sugary. And it’s smooth, but still earns the :ginger” title. Ahh… I hope they bring it back.
